About

FOBSA – Who are we?

The Friends of Bagshot School Association (FOBSA) is the school’s PTA and is a registered charity whose key aim is to raise funds that enhance the range of opportunities available to the children at Bagshot School.  e.g. the purchase of books, IT equipment, playground furniture and those things that normal central funding doesn’t cover.  The funds raised by FOBSA make a significant contribution to the ‘enrich’ part of the school’s motto, ‘Educate, Enable, Enrich’.

What is a ‘Friend’?

Anyone can be a ‘Friend’ – anyone who takes an interest in the school.   Some of us are parents, grandparents, teachers or ex-pupils or even local residents – in fact anyone who cares for the well-being of the school.  As a parent of a child in the school you are automatically a member of FOBSA and you don’t need be on the committee to attend the meetings or to be generally involved.

What sort of things do we do?

Well anything really – anything which raises additional funds for the school and creates a sense of community for the families – and of course is fun!!  We hold annual events such as the Christmas Fair, Summer Family Day, Quiz Night and Curry Night as well as three party nights across the year.  Please visit our Events page to see a list of typical activities we run across the year.  If it looks like fun and will raise money then we’ll try to arrange it.  So, if you’ve got a great idea for an event or fundraising activity then please let us know as we always want new and fresh suggestions!
