Carey will be in the new library at the school from 9.30am – 4pm on Saturday February 25th 2012 and for £10 you can book a 15 minute session. During this time Carey will take a selection of photographs of any combination of your family members. In addition to securing your sitting, your £10 will allow you to choose one 8×6 photo completely free and other photos from the session will be available to purchase at a discounted price, (a price list is attached). Carey is aiming to return all orders in time for Mother’s Day on March 18th, so this could be a great present opportunity for Mums and Grandmothers!

How does the school benefit? Carey generously donates the £10 sitting fee and 15% of all her takings from this event.

Slots are obviously limited and will sell out quickly, so if you are interested please return the slip attached with your payment via the school office to Helen Simons (FOBSA Committee) by Fri 10th February at the latest.

You have the opportunity to state your preferred timeslot which we will try to accommodate, but this will be on a first come first served basis. We would therefore ask you to nominate a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. You will receive confirmation via email of your allocated time slot (unless you request confirmation by other means).

This is the second of three parties we through the year and back by popular demand, Your Place Entertainment will be providing the disco with lots of group games and dancing! Two hours of great fun for your children and the chance for you to chat to other parents, visit the bar and watch the next generation of movers and shakers strut their stuff on the dance floor!

It’s all for the price of £3 per head (which includes a free drink and packet of crisps for your child)

• This night is always an extremely popular event and places are limited for health and safety reasons – so you need to book your tickets as soon as you can.
• We give priority to children who attend the school so must ask that only siblings aged 8 and under attend.  You’ll be glad to hear that there is no age limit for parents/carers!
• All children must be accompanied by an adult, and remain their responsibility throughout the event.
• Bring your pocket money – there will be tattoos and the Feely Castle for the children and a well stocked bar for the adults!

Please complete the reply slip on the orange letter that was sent home and return via your child’s class by Monday 23^rd of January.

Also, we do require a number of volunteers to help out on the night, so can you please indicate if you are able to help out in any way?

CHRISTMAS TREES – DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR

John Hall supplies premium quality (needle-fast) Nordman Fir, delivered direct to your door, by the weekending of your choice (see order form). No need to be home for delivery (please supply gate code if needed for access). Trees survive happily outside until required indoors. Tree stands are available (see order form). John is pleased to quote for the erection of trees (prior to delivery), and for the supply of taller trees.

TREE COLLECTION & ECO-DISPOSAL

John offers a collection and eco-disposal service (see order form). Trees are collected during the w/c January 9^th, taken back to the nursery, put through a chipper and composted. Please be sure to have your tree outside ready if you choose this service.

CLASSIC DECORATED 18” CHRISTMAS WREATH

This classically designed Christmas wreath (see above) comes decorated with a red bow, pine cones, dried sliced oranges, split lime, cinnamon sticks and water-proof berries. Made from (needle-fast) Nordman Fir, it will last for months. A traditional wreath hung on the door offers a warm welcome to friends (see order form).

TRADITIONAL RED POINSETTIAS

Traditional red Poinsettias, supplied in full bloom, provide gorgeous colour and warmth over the holidays and into New Year. Available in two pot sizes (see order form)

To enter, all you have to do is pull together up to six willing teammates, give yourselves a team name, and turn up at 7.30 pm on Friday 19^th November.  A case of wine is up for grabs for the winning team.  Team members don’t have to be Bagshot School parents, just gather any of your clever clogs friends and family and bring them along.

If you don’t have enough people to make up a team then let us know and we’ll team you up with some other players, or if you are really confident you can enter a team of less than six – now there’s a challenge!

The cost is £6 per head and includes a two course supper. And of course there will be a bar as well!

The aim of the AGM is to report on what money has been raised over the past year and let you know what projects and purchases this has funded. It is also an opportunity to let new parents know a little more about FOBSA and how everyone can get involved.

We will also be electing the Executive Committee for the forthcoming year, for which we already have nominations.

If you are interested in joining the committee or want to know how you can contribute to the work that we do, then please come on the night to find out more.  Remember that you are automatically a Friend of Bagshot School and you do not have to be on the committee to attend. As a registered charity we need a minimum of 15 people to be present to validate the AGM so we’d be grateful for your support.

Without the fundraising throughout the year, the children would not benefit from the extras we have come to enjoy and expect. So please come along, wine and nibbles will be served!

The big event will soon be upon us and for those of you who haven’t experienced it yet, or for those that need a reminder, here’s what it entails.  Parents are invited to watch the children compete in their sports day events during the morning, after which families are able to picnic on the field and enjoy a range of stalls and activities.

Programme of Events

10.00 – 12.00 – Sports Day

12.00 – 13.00 – Family Picnic on the field

13.00 – 15.05 – Fair

FOBSA are busy preparing all the activities that will make it a fun day for all the family.  All the old favourites will be there – Hook a duck, Beat the Goalie, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Tombolas and Face Painting, as well as host of new games and a variety of external stalls.

The Raffles

These are the highlight of the day and we have already secured some really exciting prizes from local organisations. We still need more though, so if you know of a company or individual that might like to make a donation (cash, prize or tickets etc) please let us know, either via the school office or at friendsofbagshot@hotmail.com.

Your child will soon be bringing home 2 books of tickets for the main raffle for you to sell to friends and family and more will be available to buy on the day. If you don’t want to sell/buy the tickets then please return to us so that we can reissue them.  During the afternoon we will also run a number of instant raffles – these tickets are separate from the main raffle and will be sold for a limited period on the day.

A number of stalls rely on donations from parents, families and friends.  The following contributions will be gratefully received over the next two weeks.

 Adult and Children’s Tombola: Alcohol, jars, toiletries, unwanted gifts, toys etc. – things that you know someone else would be glad to win. New or good condition items only please.

Jam Jar Surprise:  Collect glass jars and fill with small items such as sweets, toys, golf tees, soaps etc. Be creative and make your jars as attractive as you can.  (Some sample jars will be appearing soon to give you some ideas. We also have a stock of spare jars for you to use if needed.)

Cakes and Biscuits: Shelley, our new school chef, is kindly laying on creams teas for Family Day this year but we would still be grateful for donations of any small cakes and biscuits (particularly suitable for the children) for the refreshment stall.  Please bring these in on the day or on Tuesday the 12^th. (please label any reusable plates/tins with your child’s name so we can return them to you.

 All items can be left on or under the table in the cloakroom near Cherry Class (next to lost property)

Help on the Day: As usual we will need lots of help running the stalls so please get involved and have some fun. A rota of volunteers will be circulating at a class near you in due course!

The school will write separately detailing the arrangements for the sports events and the supervision of the children.
