How can you get involved?
There are loads of ways that you can get involved with FOBSA – come along to a committee meeting, help out with arrangements for an event or fundraising activity – or just support the events by coming along – anything is helpful.
The Committee meets at least once per half term and we tend to hold sub-committee meetings in the run up to the Christmas Fair and the Summer Family Day. You are not expected to come to every meeting or get involved in every event. Any contribution is welcome and every member brings different ‘talents’ to the group (such as face painting, serving refreshments, designing posters, organising children’s crafts or just lugging tables and chairs around!)
As well as the main Committee we rely on a huge task force of volunteers who are happy to help at the events rather than getting involved in the meetings.
Any involvement is greatly appreciated as the more help we get, the more money we can make for our school and the more fun and excitement we can offer our children.
What other ways can you help to raise money?
Search the internet using easysearch.org.uk
You can now search the web and raise money for FOBSA at the same time!
If you use http://fobsa.easysearch.org.uk/ to search the internet then easysearch will give us 50% of the fees paid by their advertising sponsors. Once on the FOBSA Easyshare page, if you select ‘set as my home page’ or ‘easysearch from my browser’ option you can raise funds effortlessly and cost free whenever you search the internet.
Shop on the internet using easyfundraising
You can raise funds for FOBSA every time you shop online through easyfundraising. You can choose from over 600 of the UK’s best-known retailers including Next, Argos, Debenhams and John Lewis, and up to 15% from every purchase you make will be donated to FOBSA.
It doesn’t cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds for us this way, and as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money!
All you need to do is register on the easyfundraising site via the link below and remember to use this link to access the retailers website so that a donation is given to FOBSA when you make a purchase (at no cost to you). The FOBSA easyfundraising website address is http://easyfundraising.org.uk/fobsa
Donate to FOBSA when you sell on Ebay
Anyone selling on eBay can list an ‘eBay for Charity’ item and donate a percentage to FOBSA. All you need to do is list the item as normal (using Advanced Sell) and chose Friends of Bagshot School (or FOBSA) and the % you would like to donate. When the items sells, Ebay will credit your insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage that you donate. MissionFish then collects the donation from you and pays it FOBSA. See http://donations.ebay.co.uk/charity/charity.jsp?NP_ID=28904
Other fundraising activity
In addition to our actual events we have a number of ongoing fund-raising initiatives such as – FOBSA Book Fund, Yellow Moon Catalogues, Hanging baskets and Tagit Clothing Labels.
Many thanks for supporting FOBSA.
