Mogul Restaurant Night – Monday 29th April

Is it time for a girls night out? Or, what about a curry and beer for the lads? Maybe you would simply like an excuse to meet new friends. If any of these appeal, please come along to the Mogul Restaurant for dinner at 8.00pm on Monday 29 April.

The cost of the dinner is £20 per head. This is for a set meal (excluding drinks) consisting of a selection of starters, choice of main dish, rice/naan bread and side dishes. The bonus is that it is a great fundraiser for us, as the Mogul Restaurant will kindly donate £10 per person back to our school.

If you would like to come, please fill in the form below. You can either enter as a group or individually. If you would like to sit with friends, then submit just one form between you. Please enclose a £10 non-refundable deposit per person. The other £10 (in cash) should be brought to the Mogul on the night. See Letter below for booking form

New Year Party – Friday 25th January 2013, 6pm – 8pm

Come in from the cold and join us for our New Year Party!

This is the second of the three parties we host across the year and Your Place Entertainment will once again be providing the disco with lots of group games and dancing! Two hours of great fun for your children and the chance for you to chat to other parents, visit the bar and watch the next generation of movers and shakers strut their stuff on the dance floor!
The cost is just £3 per head (which includes a free drink and packet of crisps for your child)
 This night is always an extremely popular event and places are limited for health and safety reasons – so you need to book your tickets as soon as you can
 We give priority to children who attend the school so must ask that only siblings aged 8 and under attend. You’ll be glad to hear that there are no age limits for parents/carers!
 All children must be accompanied by an adult, and remain their responsibility throughout the event
 Bring your pocket money – there will be tattoos and the Feely Castle for the children and most importantly, a licensed bar for the adults!

To book your tickets please complete the reply slip overleaf and return via your child’s class by Monday the 21st of January.

We need plenty of volunteers to make the evening run smoothly so please can you also let us know if you are able to help in any way on the night?

  Sunningdale Park Hotel, Ascot has kindly donated a fantastic prize for our Christmas Fair on the 1st December, 2012 and we have decided to auction this prize to the highest bidder!!!

How to bid:-

We are offering two ways to bid, via email or by completing a slip on the day, and whoever has made the highest bid at 3.45 pm on Saturday 1st December, 2012 will win this fantastic prize!

The countdown to our Christmas Fair has begun and the FOBSA team are well on the way to organising another great family event. This is one of our biggest fund-raisers of the year, as well as an event that brings the whole school together for a fun-filled festive afternoon.

It is an afternoon for everyone to enjoy and here’s how you can make a contribution:

The Raffles

The Committee are busy obtaining donations for wonderful prizes from local organisationsDo you work for someone that might boost our raffles further? (either with cash, products or tickets) Naturally all contributors will be credited in our programme. Please let us know if you can help – either via the school office, or by emailing us at

Your child will soon bring home 2 books of raffle tickets for you to buy and/or sell to family and friends.  If you don’t want to be involved in the raffle, please send the books back to school promptly so that we can re-issue them.  If on the other hand you would like more then please let us know as we would be delighted to issue you with extra!

Following the success of the class hampers at Family Day we have decided to do something similar for Christmas and more details about this will be available soon.

Phoenix Card Fundraiser

We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to buy Christmas and year round greeting cards from Phoenix Trading, whilst helping us to raise money at the same time.  Please find attached a copy of the Phoenix Trading Fundraiser leaflet which contains details of all the offers.

Please note that the children will not be doing personalised Christmas cards for you to buy this year and instead we will be organising a special school tea towel for that perfect present under the tree, more details to follow. 

FOBSA will earn 30% commission on every pack of greeting cards and Christmas cards sold via this offer. With prices ranging from £5 to £24, and with seven packs to choose from, we do hope you will find a selection of cards that will suit your needs.

How to order:

• Fill in the Order Form included in the Fundraiser leaflet on page 4

• Please put the NAME AND CLASS OF YOUR CHILD as the reference

• Cut out the Order Form and place it with payment in full in an envelope marked FOBSA CARD ORDER

• Cheques should be made payable to FOBSA

• Return your completed order to your CHILD’S CLASS or the SCHOOL OFFICE by 3.05PM on FRIDAY 19TH OCTOBER.

Your orders will then be DELIVERED VIA BOOKBAGS no later than MONDAY 19TH NOVEMBER, in plenty of time for you to write your Christmas cards.

Phoenix letter       &    Organisation Fundraising Letter Sep2012[1]

You are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of FOBSA, which will take place on Monday 15th October at 8pm in the Staff Room. (Building in the car park by the main school entrance)

The aim of the AGM is to report on what money has been raised over the past year and let you know what projects and purchases this has funded. It is also an opportunity to let new parents know a little more about FOBSA and how everyone can get involved.

We will also be electing the Executive Committee for the forthcoming year, and we are looking for people to join the committee as we currently have vacancies for the secretary and vice treasurer positions.

If you are interested in joining the committee or want to know how you can contribute to the work that we do, then please come on the night to find out more.  Remember that you are automatically a Friend of Bagshot School and you do not have to be on the committee to attend. As a registered charity we need a minimum of 15 people to be present to validate the AGM so we’d be grateful for your support.

Without the fundraising throughout the year, the children would not benefit from the extras we have come to enjoy and expect. So please come along, wine and nibbles will be served!

Back by Popular demand…. Carey Sheffield Photo Shoot 6th Oct & 10th Nov

Following the outstanding success of our Family Photo Shoot days earlier this year, FOBSA are delighted to be able to offer you a portrait sitting with Carey Sheffield, an award winning local photographer.  Examples of Carey’s stunning work can be found on her website:

Carey will be in the new library at the school on Saturday October 6th and Saturday November 10th, and for just £10 you can book a 15 minute session.  During this time Carey will take a selection of photographs of any combination of your family members.  In addition to securing your sitting, your £10 will allow you to choose one 8×6 photo completely free and other photos from the session will be available to purchase at a discounted price, (a price list is attached).   This could be an ideal opportunity to start thinking about Christmas presents!

How does the school benefit?  Carey generously donates the £10 sitting fee and 15% of all her takings from this event.  Our previous sessions raised more than £600 for the school!
